While raising a family, she completed an undergraduate degree and a Masters degree in Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating with honors. A few years later, she enrolled in medical school. She graduated from the Medical College of Virginia and after completing her residency, she began practicing as a family medicine physician in 1991.
During her years of practicing family medicine, she observed the effect of the impact of her patients’ physical and emotional conditions on their well-being and energy. In 1988 she began training with Caroline Myss and Norm Shealy, M.D. on the mind-body-spirit connection, the human energy system and healing. She has also trained with world renowned healers and teachers such as Rev. Rosalyn Bruyere and Christine R. Page, M.D.
The culmination of years of practicing traditional medicine and learning an integrative approach came into play when she found herself in the position of being a grandmother at the side of her critically ill newborn grandchild. She put to use her medical background and her awareness of the human body’s capability for healing. Through incorporating healing work along with conventional medicine, her grandson came through the crisis in a way that astounded his physicians. He is now
