Benefits of Self Care Assessment:

Medical Assessment:

As part of the integrative team, the physician serves in two
capacities.  First, the physician obtains a comprehensive assessment of
the patient using history and information taking, review of records from other
providers, physical exam and labs.  The labs are inclusive for the
patient’s individual health circumstances, for example,  homocysteine,
cardiac c-reactive protein and NMR Lipid panel for patients at risk for
coronary artery disease.  The second function of the physician is to
provide medical interpretation to the other members of the team so that a
treatment plan can be developed.  The physician’s understanding of disease
states, the possible progression of health conditions, and potential risks to
the patient’s well-being can ensure the efficacy of the program
planned.

Body Age
Assessment:

Polar BodyAge® System marks a revolution in fitness
assessments by giving a comprehensive fitness assessment based on the body’s
vital statistics while also incorporating a thorough health risk appraisal.
Each individual using the Polar BodyAge® System gets a completely unique and
thorough assessment of their physical body age and compares it to their actual
age. A report is printed showing scores in all areas with detailed
recommendations for lowering your body age so as to meet your chronological age
or better yet to get your body younger than your chronological age!

Nutrition
Assessment:

BMR and RMR are estimates of how many calories you would
burn if you were to do nothing but rest for 24 hours. They represent the
minimum amount of energy required to keep your body
functioning, including your heart beating, lungs breathing, and body
temperature normal. This calculation partnered with information on your current
food intake and physical activity level allows your nutritionist to determine
exactly where your caloric intake should be to achieve an optimal weight. You
will also be given an at home test kit for collecting the pH of your saliva and
urine to identify what foods are making your body too acidic. Maintaining
proper pH of the body will assist the body in achieving optimal health.

Behavior
Assessment:

Self care is the foundation of health and is intricately
linked to life style.   Our behavior
assessment takes a comprehensive look at the routines, responsibilities,
values, and habits that compose your current life and impact self care.  The assessment looks at:

·

  • sleep and relaxation as well as exercise patterns and routines
  • personal/family eating rituals and habits along with quality of life indicators
  • physical and emotional vitality and adaptability and resilience
  • level of stress related to work, relationships, finances
  • stress management and overall wellbeing

This assessment becomes the foundation of your individualized Self Care Plan. It allows us to clearly see both the opportunities and constraints that need to be considered in order for you to develop a sustainable self care plan
for optimal health
